Hi everyone and apologies for not updating the blog for a few months.
It's been a difficult few months with work and health combined, but it's all looking good now. Since my last blog post I have played some chess in Italy, 4NCL and the London League as well! I will write a more detailed report on this over the weekend as I have to play some more chess this evening in the London League. The good news is that my rating has been 2100 for a couple of months now - a gain of almost 150 points compared to the rating list in March last year. And I have some chess plans for the summer which I will tell you about later.
One other exciting piece of news brought to me by my friend WFM Meri Grigoryan is that I've been nominated for the ECF Player of the Year 2011 by the English Chess Federation! It's was quite unexpected and very nice at the same time. I'm up against some very famous and strong chess players. If you wish to vote - you can go here:

I spent some extra time on chess in the past few years, so I could get into the English women's team to play in the Olympiad. I've managed to achieve it this year (2012) and had lots of fun in the process! This blog is now closed, I hope you enjoyed it.

Sadly i don't think this is the "official" poll. I assume you actually have to write in to the ECF to vote. Rather strange that the blurb doesn't make that clear.
I think the poll on the site is "just a bit of fun" as they say, included to generate ideas. The clue is in the fact that it says that you can vote for correspondence players, even though there are none on the list, and also that it says you can email the webmaster to get someone added.

I think the latest discussion on the ECF forum confirmed that it was the official poll, the trouble is it wasn't organised with necessary security in place and they had to withdraw it.

Thanks! Although it looks like the ECF admitted that the poll wasn't organised correctly and they will be replacing it with something else!
